Construction Begins on The Palace at Coral Gables

South Florida's newest senior living community, The Palace at Coral Gables, begins construction and will feature 243 luxury residences.

MIAMI, FL, October 17, 2011 /Real Estate PR News/ -- The Palace at Coral Gables, the newest senior living community of The Palace Group, has begun construction of its $80,000,000 project on Andalusia Avenue. The residential component is a beautiful Mediterranean Palazzo-styled, nine-story tower with 243 luxury residences inspired by the world-renowned Four Seasons George V Hotel in Paris.

Five years in its planning stages, the new community represents a unique public-private joint venture of The Palace Group and the city of Coral Gables.

Following demolition of a city parking garage at 45 Andalusia Avenue, Coastal Construction Group, the project's general contractor, began the residential building and an adjacent 535 space parking garage to serve residents and staff with additional public accessibility.

"The Palace is a leader in senior living development and we're honored to be a part of The Palace at Coral Gables' team," said Dan Whiteman, President of Coastal Construction Group.

Ranked among the 100 top U. S. general contractors, Coastal Construction has been associated with many of South Florida's most prestigious projects of recent years, including 1450 Brickell, a 35-story LEED Gold-certified glass office tower in downtown Miami; Trump Hollywood, a 42-story luxury condominium tower in Hollywood Beach; and the oceanfront St. Regis resort and residences development in Bal Harbor.

In Coral Gables, Coastal Construction is noted for the 100,000 square-foot renovation and 25,000 square foot expansion of the historic Biltmore Hotel that included the addition of 60- and 90-seat amphitheaters, as well as construction of the new 25,000 square foot Bacardi headquarters.

The Palace at Coral Gables will offer residents gourmet dining daily, vibrant social and entertainment opportunities, wellness and concierge services. The well-appointed public areas include an elegant dining room, plaza & piano-bar, theater, library, computer lab, gaming and arts & crafts rooms, aerobics studio, fitness center and a magnificent indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi & Spa.

The community will provide complimentary valet parking, scheduled transportation, an emergency response system, all utilities including cable and 24-hour staffed security. A passeo provides immediate access to Miracle Mile, a few steps away.

One of Florida's leading senior residential development companies, The Palace Group was recently honored by the 2011 Aurora Award in the commercial building category at the Southeast Building Conference in Orlando for planning expertise of The Palace at Coral Gables.

The award recognized the community's development team which includes Coastal Construction, Fullerton Group Architects, Mariano Corral Landscape Architects and The Howard De Armas Group, the project's interior designer.
